UPDATE: One person dead following early-morning stabbing in Phillipsburg

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ (Warren County) — A 26-year-old woman died early Friday morning following a stabbing on Anderson Street in Phillipsburg, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.

On May 16, at around 3:00 a.m., police were flagged down in the 400 block of Anderson Street to assist with a 26-year-old woman who was unresponsive, authorities said.

The victim was found with injuries consistent with being stabbed, officials said.

Phillipsburg Patrol and EMS administered lifesaving efforts on the scene. The victim was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, Warren Campus, where she was later pronounced dead, the prosecutor’s office said.

The victim and alleged perpetrator are known to each other, authorities said.

This remains an active investigation. The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office and Phillipsburg Police Department are asking anyone with information to contact the non-emergency line at the Phillipsburg Police Department at (908) 835-2019.
