Kitchen fire breaks out at Warren County townhouse

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Firefighters responded to a kitchen fire that broke out at a Warren County townhouse.

The fire broke out Wednesday afternoon at a townhouse on Oriole Drive in the Panther Valley section of Allamuchy Township.

While crews were responding, Warren County Dispatch updated the assignment to a structure fire. The fire chief arrived within minutes and confirmed an active kitchen fire, and requested a first-alarm, according to a post on the Allamuchy Fire Department’s Facebook page.

Crews quickly went to work keeping the fire contained to the kitchen, the post said.

NJ State Police assisted in evacuating all attached townhouse units while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and clear out the smoke, authorities said.

The Green Fire Department, Hackettstown Fire Department, Independence Fire Department, Budd Lake Fire Department, Allamuchy-Green First Aid, Warren County Fire and EMS coordinators assisted.

No other townhouse units were damaged from the fire and all units were clear in about 2 hours, the post said.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Warren County Fire Marshal and Mount Olive Township Fire Marshal.
