Man accused of assaulting victim at softball game in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A man is accused of assaulting a person at softball game in Hackettstown on Thursday night.

On Aug. 15, at around 8:49 p.m., an on-duty officer witnessed an incident that took place at Tannery Field. During a men’s softball game, an altercation took place, and the victim was allegedly struck in the face by Jeffrey Binns with a closed fist causing a laceration above his left eye, police said.

Binns was charged with simple assault and released pending a court appearance, police said.
