Man accused of inhaling aerosol, arrested in Morris County

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Morris County man was arrested last month after allegedly being found under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and inhaling from an aerosol can while seated behind the wheel of a running vehicle in Hanover Township, police said.

Neil Perry, 37, of Succasunna, was arrested on June 18, and is accused of driving while intoxicated, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, and inhaling toxic chemicals to cause intoxication, according to police.

Officers responded to the scene after receiving a report of a suspected intoxicated driver. Police said they located the vehicle and observed Perry in the driver’s seat with the engine running. According to authorities, Perry was allegedly seen inhaling from an aerosol canister and exhibiting signs of impairment.

Field sobriety tests were conducted, and Perry was taken into custody. He was charged and later released pending a future court date.
