Man arrested after fleeing traffic stop in Sussex County

FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex County man was arrested after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop in Franklin Borough.

During a traffic stop on July 6, the driver, who was later identified as Shaun Cancelliere, 41, of Branchville Borough, drove away and eluded police as the officer approached the vehicle to make contact with Cancelliere, police said.

Surrounding agencies were notified of the incident and advised to be on the lookout for Cancelliere, police said.

After a brief period, Cancelliere was located by the Andover Township Police Department and turned over to the Franklin Borough Police, officials said.

Cancelliere was charged with second-degree eluding, disorderly Conduct and issued motor vehicle summonses. He was then lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance, police said.
