Man arrested for criminal trespass, criminal mischief in Warren County

LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Warren County man was arrested for criminal trespass and criminal mischief in Lopatcong Township last month.

On March 23, at approximately 7:44 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Belvidere Road in response to a possible breaking and entering incident, authorities said.

The caller identified the suspect as Andrew W. Petras, of the 1500 block of Warren Street in Alpha, NJ. The caller reported that Petras was aggressively slamming on their front door and attempting to gain entry, causing significant damage to the door. Petras fled the scene in his vehicle before police arrived, authorities said.

Later, Petras was located at his residence in Phillipsburg and taken into custody. He was transported to Lopatcong Police Headquarters for processing, police said.

Petras faces charges of fourth-degree criminal trespass and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was lodged in the Warren County Correctional Center, pending his first court appearance, police said.
