Man arrested in pellet gun shooting in Warren County

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ (Warren County) – A Warren County man was arrested for allegedly shooting another man with a pellet gun in Phillipsburg, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, at around 9:37 p.m., police responded to a report of a male who had been shot in the area of Raymond and Bullman Streets, officials said.

Upon investigation, police identified Edward J. Furstenberg, 32, of Phillipsburg, as the suspect in the shooting. Furstenberg was apprehended shortly thereafter. Authorities later determined that the weapon used in the incident was a pellet gun.

As a result of the investigation, Furstenberg has been charged with second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and third-degree aggravated assault.

Second-degree crimes carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in New Jersey State Prison, while third-degree crimes carry a maximum sentence of 5 years.
