Man charged after allegedly throwing dog feces into vehicle at Morris County store
HANOVER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A 42-year-old Parsippany man has been charged with criminal mischief after allegedly throwing dog feces into a woman’s vehicle at a BJ’s store in Hanover Township, causing more than $500 in damage, according to police.
Anthony Nigro was charged Sept. 15 in connection with the July 31 incident.
Police said the victim reported that her young service dog unexpectedly defecated in a mulched area outside the store. She went inside to get a bag to clean up after the dog, but when she returned, she discovered that someone had thrown the feces throughout the interior of her vehicle.
The woman reported the incident to police, who responded to the store and began investigating.
According to police, BJ’s management provided surveillance footage that helped identify a possible suspect. Investigators continued working on the case until Sept. 15, when Nigro was positively identified as the suspect.
Police said Nigro refused to travel to police headquarters, so a criminal complaint was mailed to him with a scheduled court appearance.
