Man charged after fight with security at Morris County hospital

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A New York man was arrested after allegedly fighting with hospital security officers at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville Township, according to police.

Officers responded to the hospital May 15 after receiving reports of an adult male patient fighting with security personnel.

Police said officers learned upon arrival that the individual, identified as 29-year-old Avian Bennet of Ossining, New York, had already been detained by hospital security staff.

Following an investigation, Bennet was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, police said.

Authorities said Bennet was transported to Denville Police Headquarters for processing before being released pending a mandatory appearance in Denville Township Municipal Court.
