
Man charged in Sussex County liquor store burglary
FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – An Essex County man has been charged with allegedly breaking into the Right Bottle at Sterling Plaza in the early morning hours of Nov. 23, 2024, police announced on Monday.
The suspect, later identified as Angel Soler, 36, of Newark, reportedly used a tool to break the glass sliding door of the business. Once inside, he accessed the cash registers and stole bottles of alcohol and a tablet belonging to the store, police said.
The investigation involved the Sussex County Sheriff’s Department, New Jersey State Police, Mt. Olive Police Department, Hawthorne Police Department, and Passaic County Sheriff’s Department.
Soler was later arrested by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department on unrelated charges and was lodged in the Bergen County Correctional Facility, in accordance with the NJ Bail Reform Act, police said.
On Nov. 26, 2024, Soler was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree theft of movable property, and third-degree criminal mischief. He remains held at the Bergen County Correctional Facility pending his appearance in Sussex County Superior Court, police said.
