Man killed in single-vehicle crash on I-80 in Morris County

PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS, N.J. (Morris County) — A Rockaway man was killed Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 westbound in Morris County, according to the New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 9:18 a.m. on June 8 at milepost 44.4 in Parsippany-Troy Hills, Lebron said.

A preliminary investigation found that a Kia Sportage, driven by 71-year-old Jon Defalco of Rockaway, was traveling westbound when it veered off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Defalco sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash, Lebron said.

The incident remains under investigation. No further details were immediately available.
