Man sentenced for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute in Sussex County
NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Passaic County man was sentenced for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, according to Acting Sussex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray.
Dominick Wilson, 37, of Paterson was sentenced on July 25 before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, .J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courthouse in Newton, Murray said.
Wilson was sentenced to five years state prison with a credit for 329 days jail already served. He must also submit a DNA sample and pay $2,250 in mandatory fees and penalties, Murray said.
Wilson previously pled guilty to second-degree possession of CDS with intent to distribute, Murray said.
The charges arose from an investigation in July and August of 2023 by the Sussex County Guns, Gangs and Narcotics Task Force and the New Jersey State Police, Murray said.
The investigation revealed that Wilson and two co-defendants were selling CDS in the Newton area and during his guilty plea he admitted to possessing more than one ounce of methamphetamine with the intent to sell that controlled dangerous substance, Murray said.
Wilson was represented by Thomas Militano, Esq. and the State was represented by Special Deputy Attorney General/Acting Supervising Assistant Prosecutor Jerome Neidhardt.
