Man shows up at police station to report accident, ends up arrested for DWI in Hunterdon County

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A man showed up at the police station to report his involvement in an accident but ended up being arrested for DWI in Clinton Township, according to Clinton Township Police Chief Thomas A. DeRosa.

On February 3, Seon A. Westross, 39, of Newark, arrived at the Clinton Township Police Department (CTPD) Headquarters to report his involvement in a motor vehicle accident on Walnut Pond Road near Route 31, which left his vehicle inoperable, DeRosa said.

While speaking with officers, Westross allegedly showed visible signs of impairment and was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Westross failed to perform the tests as directed and was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated, DeRosa said.

Westross was also charged with obstructing the flow of traffic, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, driving without a license, failure to possess a driver’s license, and careless driving. His vehicle was impounded, and he was released to a responsible adult, DeRosa said.
