Man struck by NJ Transit train in Essex County

MILLBURN, N.J. (Essex County) — A New Jersey Transit train struck an adult male trespasser Wednesday afternoon just west of Millburn Station, officials said.

The incident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. involving Morris & Essex Line train 6641, which had departed New York Penn Station at 4:15 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Dover at 5:30 p.m.

Officials said the trespasser was conscious following the incident and was transported to a local hospital.

No injuries were reported among the approximately 800 passengers or crew members on board the train.

New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation.
