Mansfield Township welcomes new police officer as recruit begins academy training

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — The Mansfield Township Police Department has welcomed its newest officer, Jared Van Valkenburg, who began his law enforcement training this week, the department announced.

“Please join us in welcoming our newest officer, Jared Van Valkenburg!” the department said in a statement.

Officer Van Valkenburg started his journey Thursday at the Passaic County Police Academy, where he will take part in rigorous physical training along with comprehensive classroom instruction. After graduating from the academy, he will enter an extensive field training program under the supervision of Patrolman Robinson.

“Our agency remains dedicated to providing our community with the highest level of service and professionalism,” the department said. “We are confident that Officer Van Valkenburg will be a wonderful addition to our department and serve our residents with pride and excellence.”
