Mega Millions jackpot climbs to $800 million ahead of Nov. 4 drawing

The Mega Millions® jackpot is soaring once again, with an estimated $800 million prize — or $371.7 million in cash — up for grabs in the Tuesday, Nov. 4 drawing after no ticket matched all six numbers in Friday night’s game.

The winning numbers for Friday, Oct. 31 were 2, 24, 52, 66, 68 and the Mega Ball 9. While no one claimed the jackpot, 557,912 winning tickets across all prize tiers were sold nationwide, totaling nearly $10.9 million in winnings.

Six tickets matched five numbers plus the Mega Ball to win the game’s third-tier prize. Three of those tickets — sold in Illinois, Ohio, and Pennsylvania — included the 2X Megaplier to win $20,000 each, while three others — sold in California, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania — matched with the 3X Megaplier, earning $30,000 each. Due to California’s pari-mutuel payout system, prize amounts in that state differ from standard values.

The jackpot has been rolling over since it was last won on June 27 in Virginia, when a single ticket claimed $348 million. In the 36 drawings since, nearly 11.1 million winning tickets have been sold nationwide, with total prizes exceeding $261.8 million.

This jackpot run has produced 17 second-tier winners, including players from Arizona, California, Connecticut, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Texas, and Virginia, and 244 third-tier winners across 38 states — including New Jersey.

The last time a Mega Millions jackpot was won in November was in 2016, though historically, 16 jackpots have been claimed during the month since the game began in 2002. The largest November win to date was a $326 million prize in New York on Nov. 4, 2014.

Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. ET. Players can check results at megamillions.com or njlottery.com
