Methamphetamine, glass bong found during traffic stop in Morris County

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Morris County woman is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Mount Olive Township last month, according to police.

On February 21, at 7:34 p.m., an officer observed a white Nissan traveling on Flanders-Drakestown Road fail to maintain its lane and stopped the vehicle near Greenbriar Court, police said.

The officer contacted the driver, identified as Heather Salas, 46, of Chester. During the interaction, the officer noted that Salas was evasive in her responses and appeared to be under the influence, police said.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Salas was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and a glass bong, police said.

Salas was arrested and charged with possession of a CDS Schedule I-IV, under the influence of CDS, possession of paraphernalia, careless driving, and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. She was released pending a court appearance, police said.
