Milling, resurfacing project on Sussex Turnpike in Randolph to begin Aug. 10
RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Preparatory work for a milling and resurfacing project on Sussex Turnpike (County Route 617) in Randolph Township is scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 10, Morris County officials announced.
The project will cover Sussex Turnpike from Dover Chester Road to West Hanover Avenue.
Preparatory work will continue throughout August, with milling and paving operations scheduled to begin after schools reopen in early September. All work is expected to be completed by Sept. 21, weather permitting.
Construction is generally scheduled between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, although some work may take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Traffic will be maintained through the work zone during construction, but motorists should expect temporary traffic impacts and possible delays. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
The project is funded through the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s Local Aid Program and is being managed by Morris County. Riverview Paving Inc. was awarded the contract for the work.
