Mine Hill Fire Department unveils plans for firefighter-themed playground, seeks community support
MINE HILL TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – The Mine Hill Fire Department has announced the release of conceptual plans for a brand-new, firefighter-themed playground at Fireman’s Field—an exciting project aimed at creating a safe, inclusive, and imaginative space for children and families in the community.
The proposed playground, which the department hopes to complete by October 2025, will pay tribute to the fire service while providing a vibrant and engaging environment for all ages. Renderings of the playground concept have been shared, and department leaders are inviting community members to get involved in shaping and supporting the project.
“The Fireman’s Field playground has truly been a staple in our community for decades and we would love to continue to provide for our community,” the department said in a statement.
To reach their goal, the department is actively fundraising and encouraging residents to contribute through donations. Contributions can be made in cash or check—sealed in an envelope and mailed or dropped off at the firehouse (230 Route 46, Mine Hill)—or digitally via Zelle, with a QR code available on their social media post. Donors are asked to include “Donation for playground” to ensure the funds are properly directed.
The department is also inviting community input on the project. Residents with ideas or features they’d like to see included in the playground are encouraged to email President Allen Bell at mhfdpresident1@gmail.com.
“Thank you to everyone supporting this project thus far—we can’t wait to welcome you to the finished playground this fall!'” the department added.
