Morris County begins overnight paving on Sussex Turnpike between Randolph and Morristown

MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — The Morris County Division of Engineering and Transportation announced that paving operations began this week on Sussex Turnpike between Randolph and Morristown, with one lane of traffic remaining open throughout the project.

Work will take place overnight from approximately 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, and is expected to be completed within two weeks, county officials said. Construction related to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramp improvements will continue during daytime hours.

During paving, one lane will remain open to allow travel from Randolph toward Morristown. Traffic in the opposite direction will be detoured, and police will be on site to assist with traffic control as needed.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to plan alternate routes when possible.

The project is being completed by Top Line Construction Corp. of Somerville, N.J., under contract with Morris County.
