Morris County man among trio charged in Wayne Township vehicle burglaries

WAYNE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Passaic County) — A Morris County man is among three individuals facing charges following an investigation into a string of vehicle burglaries in Wayne Township’s Pines Lake neighborhood.

According to the Wayne Township Police Department, members of the department’s investigative division responded to the area on May 16, 2025, after multiple motor vehicle burglaries were reported. Police conducted interviews with residents and reviewed surveillance footage, identifying several suspects who allegedly attempted or succeeded in entering vehicles.

A police bulletin issued by Wayne detectives led to contact with the East Hanover Township Police Department, which reported similar burglaries in its jurisdiction involving the same suspects. A motor vehicle stop by East Hanover police resulted in the impoundment of a suspect vehicle and initiated further investigation.

One of the suspects, Chelsea Taylor, 24, of Parlin, allegedly admitted during an interview that she had driven Jordan Ali, 29, of Morristown, around Wayne Township while they committed the burglaries. Surveillance video linked Ali to the Wayne incidents, and he was later found to already be incarcerated in Morris County Jail. A complaint warrant was issued for his arrest on several counts of burglary and theft.

During the investigation, officers recovered a stolen New Jersey driver’s license at the scene in Wayne. Taylor allegedly confirmed that she and Ali had the document in their possession during a burglary in Florham Park Borough.

Additionally, Nysasia Campbell, 23, of Long Branch, was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary. Authorities said Campbell allowed Ali and Taylor to use her vehicle and cellphone in exchange for food and other compensation.

Taylor was also charged with multiple counts of burglary and theft and issued a complaint warrant. Campbell received a complaint summons.
