Morris County prosecutor’s office participates in youth anti-human trafficking event

MONTCLAIR, N.J. (Essex County) — Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sgt. Patrick LaGuerre attended the Kids4Freedom Safety Challenge ’26 Congressional Awards Dinner this week to recognize student leadership in public safety, education and community advocacy.

The event was held May 13 at Montclair State University and honored students who participated in programs focused on raising awareness about human trafficking.

The evening featured winners of the Kids4Freedom art poster contest, creative writing contest and awareness campaign competition.

Organizers said the awareness campaign challenge encouraged students to collaborate and develop creative initiatives focused on educating communities about the dangers of human trafficking.

The annual program highlights youth engagement and advocacy efforts aimed at promoting safety awareness and preventing exploitation through education and outreach initiatives.
