Morris County Prosecutor’s Office takes part in National Night Out events

MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — Members of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) joined residents earlier this month for the annual National Night Out, an event aimed at building stronger relationships between law enforcement and the community.

MCPO staff participated in National Night Out events on Aug. 5 in Denville, Madison, Rockaway Borough, and Morris Plains, and on Aug. 12 in Butler. At each location, the office set up tables offering public safety information, giveaways for children, and opportunities for residents to meet with law enforcement officers who serve in their communities.

In some towns, the evening also included presentations from members of the ARRIVE Together program, which connects law enforcement with mental health professionals to provide safer and more compassionate responses during crisis situations.

National Night Out was established in 1984 with funding from the Bureau of Justice Assistance of the U.S. Department of Justice and is administered by the National Association of Town Watch, a nonprofit organization.
