Morris County Sheriff’s Office promotes and swears in new officers

MORRISTOWN, NJ (Morris County) – Sheriff James M. Gannon presided over the swearing-in of a new officer and a newly promoted Sergeant in the Historic Courtroom at the County Courthouse Complex Friday.

Sheriff’s Officer Ryan D’Ambola is from Madison and is a graduate of the 101st basic police class of the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy. Officer D’Ambola is currently pursuing higher education at William Patterson University. and studing to attain a bachelor’s degree in criminology with a minor in public health.

He had the privilege of interning with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit before his employment with the Office. Officer D’Ambola is also a volunteer ambulance driver for the Florham Park Memorial First Aid Squad.

Sgt. Frank Pirog is a lifelong resident of Kinnelon. He attended the County College of Morris, obtaining an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice. Sgt. Pirog started his career in law enforcement as a Correctional Police Officer with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Corrections in 2010.

He attended and graduated from the Passaic County Police Academy Class 12-42 in 2012. He worked at the Morris County Correctional Facility until July 2016 and then became a Sheriff’s Officer within the Bureau of Law Enforcement. Sgt. Pirog has previously held assignments in the K9 section, assisted with Search and Rescue, and is currently assigned to the Protective Services Division. He is most certainly passionate about serving the community, as he serves as a volunteer firefighter with the Kinnelon Volunteer Fire Company and has previously served as Captain for that organization.

Sheriff Gannon welcomed and congratulated both officers for their achievements. He continued to thank both officers for choosing to serve the people of Morris County.
