Morris County Sheriff’s Office starts new bike patrol unit

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon has announced the beginning of a new Bike Patrol Unit within the Patrol Division of the Office.

The Morris County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Bike Patrol Unit was recently developed in 2024 with the intent of increasing trail time and officer familiarity within the trail system of the Morris County parks, Gannon ssid.

The bike unit also adds the ability to assist in community outreach and large gathering events where it is not possible to operate a motor vehicle within, Gannon said.

“The sheriff’s office looks forward spending increased time on the trails and making sure all visitors are safe in their time spent within the Morris County parks and community events alike,” Gannon said.
