Mosquito spraying scheduled Aug. 14 in six Morris County towns

MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — Mosquito control crews will treat wooded areas and surrounding properties in six Morris County municipalities early Thursday in response to increased adult mosquito populations and disease concerns, county officials said.

Weather permitting, spraying will take place Aug. 14 between 4:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. using all-terrain vehicles, according to the Morris County Division of Mosquito Control.

The scheduled locations are:

  • Denville – Savage Road (Gardner Field)
  • Mountain Lakes – W. Shore Road (Taft Field)
  • Mount Arlington – Altenbrand Avenue (Fireman’s Field)
  • Parsippany-Troy Hills – Edwards Road, Jannarone Park
  • Boonton – Plane Street (Boonton Recycling)
  • Morris Plains – Granniss Avenue (Watnong Park)

Crews will apply either Anvil 2+2, with the active ingredient Sumithrin (EPA #1021-1687-8329), or Zenivex E4, with the active ingredient Etofenprox (EPA #2724-807).
