Mosquito spraying scheduled Saturday morning in Rockaway

ROCKAWAY, N.J. (Morris County) — Crews are scheduled to spray for mosquitoes early Saturday morning in Rockaway following an increase in adult mosquito populations, officials said.

Weather permitting, treatment will take place Sept. 13 between 5 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. at Beach Street, also known as Fireman’s Field, according to local officials. The spraying had originally been scheduled for Sept. 11 but was postponed.

The treatment will be applied by all-terrain vehicle using either Anvil 2+2, which contains the active ingredient Sumithrin, or Zenivex E4, which contains the active ingredient Etofenprox. Both insecticides are registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, officials said.
