MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A motorcyclist was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and multiple traffic violations following a late-night stop in Mount Olive, authorities said.
At approximately 12:11 a.m. on March 30, police observed a black Suzuki motorcycle leaving a 7-Eleven parking lot and traveling north on Route 206 at a high rate of speed, officials said.
Police initiated a motor vehicle stop near Flanders-Drakestown Road and identified the driver as Vincenzo Bruzzese, 28, of Budd Lake.
During the stop, officers detected the odor of alcohol and observed signs of impairment, authorities said. The driver was asked to perform field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest.
Bruzzese was transported to police headquarters, where he refused to submit to a chemical breath test, police said.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, refusal to submit to a chemical breath test, careless driving, speeding, failure to stop or yield, failure to observe a traffic signal, improper display of plates, operating an unregistered vehicle, unlicensed driving and failure to exhibit documents.
Bruzzese was released to a sober driver pending a court hearing, authorities said.
