Motorcyclist ejected, seriously injured in Sussex County crash

LAFAYETTE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash Thursday in Sussex County, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash happened at around 5:59 p.m. on Monroe Road in Lafayette Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Victory motorcycle, operated by Timothy Angle, 64, of Rockaway, was traveling eastbound on Monroe Road, negotiating a curve when the motorcycle veered off the roadway, overturned, collided with a tree, and the Angle was ejected, Lebron said.

As a result of the crash, Angle sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information was available, Lebron said.
