Centenary University inducts 10 students into Tri Beta, the National Biology Honor Society

Honor society members demonstrate excellence in the study of biology or related life sciences, achieving at least a 3.0 grade point average

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) — Centenary University recently inducted 10 students into the Omega Rho Chapter of Beta Beta Beta, the national biology honor society.

Also referred to as Tri Beta, the honor society requires members to have at least a 3.0 grade point average and complete 12 or more credits in biology or related life sciences.

“Centenary University members of Tri Beta, the national biology honor society, excel in the classroom and in our community promoting the field of biology,” said Assistant Professor of Biology Yeon Lang Cha, Ph.D., the advisor of Tri Beta. “The University is proud to recognize the newest inductees of Tri Beta and looks forward to the leadership they will provide on our campus.”

  • Newark—Jordan Henderson

Hudson County   

  • Jersey City—Emma Coronel

Hunterdon County

  • Glen Gardner—Emelia Detorres

Sussex County

  • Hopatcong—Taylor Fallon
  • Hopatcong—Jayson Morton

Union County

  • Linden—Kayla Lima

Warren County

  • Allamuchy—Luke McGovern
  • Belvidere—Peter Discafani
  • Great Meadows—Justice Chiappetta
  • Washington Borough—Jace Sawyer

Jay Edwards

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music. Jay has held numerous jobs over the years such as stunt car driver, bartender, voice-over artist, traffic reporter (award winning), NY Yankee maintenance crewmember and peanut farm worker. His hobbies include mountain climbing, snowmobiling, cooking, performing stand-up comedy and he is an avid squirrel watcher. Jay has been a guest on America’s Morning Headquarters,program on The Weather Channel, and was interviewed by Sam Champion.
