Motorcyclist injured after colliding with bear in Sussex County, state police say
WANTAGE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — A motorcyclist was injured Sunday morning after colliding with a bear on Newman Road in Wantage Township, according to Trooper II Christopher Postorino, a New Jersey State Police spokesman.
Troopers responded to the crash at 9:23 a.m., Postorino said.
A preliminary investigation determined that a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling on Newman Road when it struck a bear, causing the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle.
The operator sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, Postorino said.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is currently available.
