Motorcyclist injured in Route 15 crash in Morris County

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Sparta man was airlifted to a hospital after a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning on Route 15 North in Jefferson Township, authorities said.

Police responded at approximately 2:56 a.m. June 14 to a report of a motorcycle down in the roadway near Edison Road.

Responding officers found the rider lying in the roadway and immediately began providing lifesaving measures until advanced medical personnel arrived, police said.

The motorcyclist was identified as Jonathan Kressman, 24, of Sparta Township.

Kressman was flown to Morristown Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Assisting at the scene were the Jefferson Township Rescue Squad, Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 2 and St. Clare’s EMS.

The crash remains under investigation by the Jefferson Township Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
