Motorcyclist killed in crash in Sussex County

MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A 39-year-old motorcyclist from Hudson County was fatally injured Sunday morning after colliding with a guardrail in Sussex County, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

Troopers responded to the crash at 10:26 a.m. on Route 23 northbound at milepost 50 in Montague Township, Lebron said.

According to a preliminary investigation, a KTM motorcycle operated by Frank Jimeno of West New York was traveling northbound on Route 23 when, in the area of milepost 50, the motorcycle veered off the right side of the roadway and collided with a guardrail, Lebron said.

Jimeno sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash, Lebron added.

The crash remains under investigation.
