Motorcyclist killed in crash with SUV in Warren County

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — A 22-year-old Lopatcong Township man was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV in Washington Township, according to police.

Officers responded at approximately 2:33 p.m. to the intersection of Brass Castle Road and Pleasant Valley Road for a reported collision involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle.

According to police, a preliminary investigation found that a 50-year-old Washington Township woman driving a 2018 GMC Yukon was crossing Brass Castle Road from Kinnaman Avenue to Pleasant Valley Road when the vehicle was struck by a northbound 2007 Suzuki motorcycle operated by a 22-year-old Lopatcong Township man.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the GMC Yukon was evaluated by emergency medical personnel at the scene.

The investigation is being conducted by the Washington Township Police Department with assistance from the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team.

Additional agencies assisting at the scene included the Washington Emergency Squad, Washington Township Fire Department, Washington Borough Fire Department, Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office, Warren County Road Department, Warren County Communications Center and J&D Auto Body.

The crash remains under investigation.
