Mountain Avenue water main repairs underway; lane closures, delays continue

UPDATE: Mountain Ave has reopened.

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — A water main break late Wednesday night on Mountain Avenue led to service disruptions and ongoing traffic delays, according to the Hackettstown Municipal Utilities Authority (HMUA) and local police.

The break occurred around 10 p.m. on July 16 and was quickly isolated. However, water service remains shut off to the McDonald’s restaurant and Riverside Apartments while repairs continue, the HMUA said.

Crews are currently in the process of repairing the water main.

Hackettstown police reported Thursday that one lane in each direction on Mountain Avenue has been reopened to traffic. Motorists are still advised to expect delays and exercise caution in the area due to ongoing repair work.
