Mountain Creek Waterpark opens June 19 for summer season in Sussex County

VERNON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Mountain Creek Waterpark will open for the 2026 season on Friday, June 19, giving guests a full summer of water rides, slides and family attractions in Vernon Township.

Mountain Creek Resort said the waterpark will be open June 19 through June 21 for the first official weekend of summer before reopening June 27 for daily operations through Sept. 7.

Operating hours will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends and holidays.

The 2026 season will feature the return of Cannonball Falls and Tarzan Swings, two of the waterpark’s best-known attractions. The reimagined attractions include the Root Slide, Rock Slide and three revamped swing experiences.

Other park attractions include Colorado River Rapids, Zero G, High Tide Wavepool and Canyon Cliff Jump, along with areas designed for younger children.

“Last season was an incredible return for Mountain Creek, we’re excited to keep that momentum going this summer,” said Evan Kovach, Resort General Manager, Mountain Creek Resort. “Guests are in for a full season of fun across the park, with Cannonball Falls, the Tarzan Swings and all of our beloved attractions ready to deliver the energy and excitement they’ve come to expect from Mountain Creek. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another unforgettable summer.”

Waterpark season passes are available for a limited time for $99.99 and include unlimited access for the season, free general parking and discounts on food and retail, the resort said. Full-day tickets start at $59.99, and advance online reservations are required to guarantee entry.

Mountain Creek also said its Waterpark After Dark events for guests 21 and older will return July 3 through Aug. 14 from 7 to 11 p.m.

Mountain Creek Resort is located in Vernon, about 47 miles from the George Washington Bridge, and also offers mountain biking and zip line tours.
