Municipal plow truck catches fire in Sussex County; no injuries reported

SANDYSTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County — A municipal plow truck caught fire Tuesday afternoon on Flatbrook Road in Sandyston Township, according to fire officials.

The Frankford Township Fire Department was dispatched around 1:58 p.m. on an automatic-aid assignment, along with the Sandyston Township Fire Department and the Blue Ridge Rescue Squad, for a reported vehicle fire. When crews arrived, they found the truck’s engine and passenger compartments fully involved.

Sandyston firefighters began suppression efforts upon arrival. Frankford firefighters arrived shortly afterward to assist with extinguishing the fire and supplying water. Sandyston command assumed control of the scene.

Crews operated for about an hour before clearing. No injuries were reported.
