New four-way stop to take effect Sept. 1 at Morris County intersection
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A new four-way stop will take effect next month at the intersection of Old Farmers Road and East Valley Brook Road in Washington Township, according to police.
Beginning Sept. 1, drivers approaching the intersection from all four directions will be required to come to a complete stop before proceeding when it is safe to do so.
The new traffic pattern is being implemented to improve traffic control and safety at the intersection, police said.
The Washington Township Police Department will have an increased presence in the area during the initial implementation period to help motorists adjust to the change.
Police are asking drivers to slow down, pay attention and use caution while becoming familiar with the new traffic pattern and to obey all posted stop signs.
The four-way stop takes effect Tuesday, Sept. 1.
