New Jersey, New York Applebee’s raise more than $144,000 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation
NEW JERSEY – This summer, Doherty Enterprises and Applebee’s celebrated the 21st year of their partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), marking another milestone in the ongoing fight against childhood cancer.
Since the partnership began in 2005, Applebee’s has raised more than $18 million nationwide for ALSF — funding over 360,000 hours of pediatric cancer research to help scientists develop new treatments and search for cures for children battling cancer.
In New Jersey, guests were able to contribute in several ways throughout the campaign:
- Purchasing a $1, $5, or $10 paper Lemon Tag, with 100% of proceeds donated to ALSF.
- Adding the Alex’s Lemonade Stand menu item when ordering online at Applebees.com.
- Ordering a featured Mucho Cocktail, with $0.25 from each purchase benefiting ALSF.
- Buying the NEW Strawberry Lemon Sunshine drink, which generated a $0.50 donation per sale to the foundation.
Through these combined efforts, New Jersey and New York Applebee’s locations raised a total of $144,755 this summer.
The top-selling restaurants in the state were Jersey Gardens, Linden, and Parsippany-Troy Hills.
Doherty Enterprises, which operates Applebee’s locations across New Jersey and New York, has been a long-standing supporter of ALSF’s mission to “fight childhood cancer, one cup at a time.”
