NEW JERSEY — The New Jersey Division of Elections and county election offices are seeking residents to serve as poll workers for the Nov. 3 general election and the state’s early voting period.
Poll workers can earn $300 for working on Election Day and $21.43 per hour for serving during in-person early voting, which runs from Oct. 24 through Nov. 1.
“Every year, New Jersey’s elections rely upon thousands of citizens who serve our communities as poll workers. From the start of early voting on October 24th through Election Day on November 3rd, New Jersey poll workers will be essential in helping millions of New Jersey voters participate in the upcoming election,” said Donna Barber, Director of the Division of Elections. “Counties throughout the state are actively recruiting poll workers. Serving as a poll worker is an opportunity to earn money, learn about democracy, and engage with your local community.”
To serve as a poll worker, applicants must be U.S. citizens and New Jersey residents, registered voters in their county of residence and at least 16 years old. Those younger than 18 are not required to be registered to vote. Applicants also cannot be candidates for elected office in the current election.

The general election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. In-person early voting will run from Saturday, Oct. 24, through Sunday, Nov. 1.
