NJ State Police Col. Patrick Callahan and Outreach Unit distribute winter coats to Phillipsburg students

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ (Warren County) – Colonel Patrick J. Callahan and members of the Outreach Unit recently teamed up with the Jersey Cares Coat Drive & Community Outreach, a nonprofit organization, to distribute winter coats to students at two elementary schools in Phillipsburg.

This annual effort, originally launched in 2001 by Retired Major Carla Thomas, has since provided more than 15,000 students across New Jersey with much-needed winter clothing.

The initiative aims to ensure that every child can stay warm during the cold months, especially those in underserved communities. The coat distribution event continues to make a positive impact on local families, fostering community support and compassion.
