NJ State Police expand Route 10 traffic detail into Randolph Township
RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) — Following a formal request from Randolph Township, the New Jersey State Police (NJSP) have extended their current Route 10 traffic management detail to include four key intersections within the township. This deployment is now active.
The request was made by Randolph Township officials in response to extremely heavy traffic volumes along the Route 10 corridor and heightened safety concerns. The presence of NJSP Troopers aims to deter potential traffic violators and reassure the motoring public traveling through Randolph Township.
The NJSP Troopers will be present at the following intersections along Route 10 in Randolph Township:
- Route 10 @ Canfield Avenue
- Route 10 @ Dover Chester Road
- Route 10 @ Center Grove Road
- Route 10 @ Millbrook Avenue
This extension complements the ongoing NJSP presence at select intersections in the neighboring municipalities of Roxbury Township, Mine Hill Township, and Wharton Borough. The increased police details in the region are necessary to manage significant traffic congestion resulting from delays caused by road repairs on I-80 Eastbound near Exit 34.
As part of this effort, NJSP Troopers are actively monitoring conditions and key traffic signals at intersections to help ease congestion and improve traffic flow. The NJSP is coordinating these efforts with New Jersey Department of Transportation crews also working in the area.
Randolph Township officials expressed gratitude for the NJSP’s prompt response and partnership in addressing these critical traffic management and safety needs.
Motorists are advised to exercise additional caution when traveling along Route 10, be aware of the presence of law enforcement officers directing traffic, and allow for extra travel time.
