NJ Transit restores Morris and Essex Line service after car damages tracks near Dover yard

DOVER, N.J. (Morris County) — NJ Transit rail service on the Morris and Essex Line has resumed after being suspended in both directions late Friday due to a motor vehicle stuck on the tracks near the Dover yard.

The agency said the vehicle caused damage to the tracks, requiring crews to make repairs before service could safely resume. Train traffic was halted while the work was completed.

NJ Transit said Saturday that repairs were finished and trains are now operating on schedule. No injuries were reported.
