NJDOC Custody Recruitment Unit and New Jersey Department of Labor to hold virtual law enforcement career fairs

NEW JERSEY – The New Jersey Department of Corrections (NJDOC) is partnering with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL) to co-host a series of virtual career fairs during the month of February for individuals considering a career in New Jersey law enforcement.

The departments will provide participants with details about the application process, qualifications, recommended preparation practices, and general guidance for beginning a career as a Correctional Police Officer.

The schedule below outlines several opportunities to learn more about starting a career with the NJDOC, along with a chance for participants to meet virtually with officers from the Correctional Staff Training Academy.

The virtual career fairs will be held on Microsoft Teams on the following dates and times: 

  • Tuesday, February 11 – 6pm (For individuals living in/around Central NJ)
  • Friday, February 21 – 6pm (For individuals living in/around Southern NJ)
  • Monday, February 24 – 9am (Statewide)
  • Monday, February 24 – 1pm (Statewide)

Starting salaries for NJDOC Correctional Police Officers now begin at approximately $51,400 upon graduation from the Academy. Salaries for Senior Correctional Police Officers now range from $70,500 up to $106,000 annually.
