NJDOT mower operator injured in crash with tractor-trailer on I-78 in Hunterdon County

UNION TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A New Jersey Department of Transportation worker was injured Friday morning when a tractor-trailer collided with a roadside mower on Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County, according to New Jersey State Police spokesman Trooper II Christopher Postorino.

Troopers responded at approximately 10:24 a.m. to the eastbound lanes of Interstate 78 near milepost 13.4 in Union Township.

According to a preliminary investigation, the crash involved a Volvo tractor-trailer and a John Deere mower operated by the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

State police said the operator of the mower sustained moderate injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation, and no further information was immediately available.
