No injuries after tractor-trailer jackknifes, strikes pickup on I-80 in Warren County

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — A tractor-trailer hauling 42,000 pounds of non-hazardous material jackknifed on Interstate 80 in Allamuchy Township on Monday afternoon, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash at about 1:26 p.m. on the westbound side of I-80 near milepost 19.4 in Warren County, said Trooper II Christopher Postorino, a State Police spokesman.

A preliminary investigation found that both a Freightliner tractor-trailer and a Ford pickup truck were traveling west on I-80 when the tractor-trailer driver lost directional control, ran off the roadway to the left, jackknifed, and struck the pickup, Postorino said.

No injuries were reported, and the case remains under investigation.
