One airlifted after multi-vehicle crash on I-78 in Hunterdon County, state police say

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — One person was airlifted and another was injured Tuesday morning following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 78 in Clinton Township, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded to the scene at 9:11 a.m. at milepost 16.4 on I-78 westbound, where a Volvo tractor-trailer, a Mazda passenger vehicle, and a Ford van were involved in a collision, NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

The driver of the Mazda sustained moderate injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital, while the driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries and was transported by ground to a local hospital, Lebron said.

No other injuries were reported, and the crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

No additional details were immediately available.
