
One person injured in Hunterdon County house fire
READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – One person was injured in a house fire Thursday evening in Readington Township, according to Readington Township Police Lieutenant Steven Rindock.
The fire broke out at approximately 6:41 p.m. at a residence on Roosevelt Road, Rindock said.
The occupants of the home were able to evacuate before emergency services arrived. One occupant suffered minor injuries and was transported to Hunterdon Medical Center, Rindock said.
The residence remains uninhabitable due to the fire, Rindock added.
“The source of the fire appears to be accidental,” Rindock said.
Detectives from the Readington Township Police Department and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office are continuing to investigate.
Fire companies from Whitehouse, Readington, Three Bridges, Lebanon, High Bridge, and Oldwick responded to extinguish the fire. Medics from Hunterdon Medical Center and EMTs from the Whitehouse Rescue Squad also responded.
