Operation Toy Train to make multiple Northwest New Jersey stops for Toys for Tots collections

NORTHWEST, NJ – The holiday season is rolling in with a special mission — Operation Toy Train will travel through northwest New Jersey on Saturday, December 6, Sunday, December 7, and Saturday, December 13, collecting new toys for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

The annual toy collection train, operated on several local rail lines, brings cheer to communities while supporting children in need throughout Bergen, Essex, Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties.

The first series of stops on Saturday, December 6, will take place along the Dover and Delaware River Railroad, with visits to Hackettstown, Port Murray, Washington, Stewartsville, and Phillipsburg between 9:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

On Sunday, December 7, the train will run on the Dover and Rockaway Railroad, making stops in Rockaway, Dover, Ledgewood, and Flanders from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The third leg of the toy collection run, on Saturday, December 13, will be hosted by the New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway, featuring stops across Rochelle Park, Paterson, Hawthorne, Wyckoff, Oakland, Pompton Lakes, Butler, Franklin Lakes, Sparta, and Vernon from 9 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys to any stop along the route to support the Toys for Tots mission. Volunteers, donors, and local sponsors are also welcome to get involved.
