Overnight lane closures scheduled for New Jersey side of I-78 Toll Bridge during week of Sept. 23

WARREN COUNTY, NJ – A series of overnight lane closures are scheduled for paving and repair work along portions of I-78 in the vicinity of Phillipsburg during the week of Sept. 23, according to the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge.

The anticipated lane closures are as follows:

  • I-78 westbound (Pennsylvania-bound) restricted to a single travel lane (two of three lanes closed) from milepost 3.3 to milepost 1.3 10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, to 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24;
  • I-78 eastbound restricted to a single travel lane (two of three lanes closed) from milepost 1.3 to milepost 3.3 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, to 5:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26; and
  • I-78 eastbound restricted to a single travel lane (two of three lanes closed) from the I-78 Toll Bridge to milepost 1.3 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27.

Travel delays are not anticipated due to low-traffic volumes during overnight periods. Motorists are advised to reduce speeds and exercise caution when traveling through active work zones, the commission said.

The scheduled travel restrictions are subject to change due to weather, emergencies, and other factors, the commission said.
